General Notes:
Question on birth date and marriage information. Marriage to Simon de Montacute is unlikely given dates. Miles died in 1223. Any daughter he might have had would have to have been born around the 1202 date suggested by one source. This would make her 48 when Simon was born. Perhaps there was an intervening generation.
The Aufrica de Connaught referenced from the Montacute side is likely a different person, possibly with separate ties to the Isle of Man. Aufrica was a common female name for Man descendants. However, in 1181 when the Earl of Ulster was created, the lordship of Connaught was also assigned to John DeCourcy. Thus, just 2 (or three) generations later it is quite feasible that a reference to Aufrica de Connaught would be a direct descendant of John DeCourcy. Also, references to Aufrica as a descendant of Fergus could refer to John DeCourcy whose main castle in Ireland was built of the "Rock of Fergus" (Carrickfergus) so he could have been referred to as John of Fergus.
Elsewhere Aufrica de Connaught is described as claiming an inheritance to Man as daughter of King Olave (Olaf) the Black and sister of Harald, Reginald and Magnus.
