Baldric De Balgenzais (Beaugency) the Archer
- Born: 1010
- Marriage: Unknown
Another name for Baldric was Baldric De Lovain.
General Notes:
Fief of Bouquence or Bouquency (Bauquencei) held jointly with his brother Viger.
One of six sons of Baldric the German. He is often confused with his father, who shares his name and also has a brother Viger (Wigerius). However his father, Baldric Teutonicus was lord of Bacqueville (a very different place), and came to Normandy to be of service to Duke Richard (II), marrying the neice of Count Gislebert de Brionne. The latter was nephew of Duke Richard.
This Baldric (Bauquencey) became chief archer for Duke William I (the Conqueror).
At one point Baldric and his brother fell out of favor with the monks of St. Evroult, but they were reconciled and swore fealty to the abbot.
Baldric married.
