Came to Ireland with his father in 1756 as his father was learning of his possible rights to inherit the titles and properties.

Owner of yacht "Renown" at Royal Cork Yacht Club.

Sat in Parliament Oct 28, 1777

Exercised the "privilege" of remaining covered before King George IV on his visit to Ireland in 1821 at Dublin Castle.

John married Susan Blennerhassett, daughter of Conway Blennerhassett of Conway Castle and Unknown, on 31 Oct 1763. (Susan Blennerhassett died on 13 Dec 1819 in Kinsale.)
