OBITUARY: (MIDDLEBORO)

George Paul DeCourcy, formerly of Middleboro, MA, died on May 18, 2010, at the San Luis Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Green Bay , Wisconsin , after a brief illness. He was born and raised in Millinocket , ME , to the late W. George and M. Verna (Miller) DeCourcy. He graduated from Stearns High School in Millinocket in 1949, then served in the U.S. Navy from 1950-1954, seeing action off the Korean coast. He received his B.S. Degree in 1959 from Middleboro Tennessee State College, Murfreesboro , Tennessee and taught industrial arts for 20 years in various high schools in southeastern Massachusetts , leaving to join Aramco in Saudi Arabia . He was a member and past president of Plymouth County Teachers Association, and a life member of the National Education Association. He is survived by two daughters; Diane DeCourcy-Pickford and her husband Robert of Imperial Beach, CA, Carolyn Rowinski and her husband Paul of Boulder, CO, two granddaughters; Jennifer Burnett of Chula Vista , CA , and Hannah Rowinski of Boulder , CO , and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces, a nephew, and their families, and his former wife, Eleanor C. DeCourcy of Bourne. He was preceded in death by his sister, Donna M. Connors of Westminster, Maryland, and his grandson, Christopher A Goodwin of San Diego, CA. Burial will be at Hope Rest Cemetery, Rock Village, Middleboro, MA on June 4th at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
