Robert the Magnificent Duke of Normandy

  General Notes:

Robert was younger brother of Richard III, and was in rebellion along with his uncle William. Richard III besieged Robert at his castle in Falaise. During this period of time, his son William was born to Herleve - though they were not married (she was a tanner's daughter) and thus the future William the Conqueror was known as William the Bastard.

Robert married Herleve. (Herleve died in 1050.)
